![]() ![]() Simon's visual design in earlier installments paid homage to 80s "barbarian"-style heroes such as Conan the Barbarian. They defeat their ancestor together, but being human and dhampir, part their separate ways. As he fights his way to the castle, Simon is assisted by the mysterious Alucard, who is revealed to be resurrected Trevor, having been killed by Dracula/Gabriel. Simon journeys to the vampire's castle to avenge the deaths of his parents. In the alternate Lords of Shadow universe, Simon is the direct son of Trevor Belmont, who was brutally killed while fighting Dracula, in this continuity being his insane great grandfather Gabriel. There is also a game named Haunted Castle where Simon is blue-haired, wields a longsword before obtaining a whip, and weds a woman named Serena who is kidnapped by Dracula, but many sources contradict this being the character. Super Castlevania IV has Simon traverse a harrowingly dangerous land composing of a forest, a cursed underground city, a cavern, and more before setting foot in Dracula's Castle. Simon's first adventure has been retold in many different forms, with the Sharp X68000/Castlevania Chronicles version bearing the most resemblance to the NES original. His Arcade Mode ending leads directly into the events of Simon's Quest. Simon eventually defeats Trevor and accepts that he is much more than the weapon itself. Simon's personal story in this game, set between the first and second games, has him seeking a battle with his ancestor Trevor to gauge his own worth with the Vampire Killer. The crossover game Castlevania Judgment is an interquel where Simon is brought into the Time Rift by the time-traveler Aeon, as part of a plot to stop a demon called the Time Reaper from destroying reality. He fights an abomination made solely from the remains of Dracula and grandfathers Richter, also a fighter in Ultimate. The one directly after him would be of Juste Belmont in Harmony of Dissonance, where he saves his friends Lydie and Maxim from being sacrificed to resurrect Dracula. ![]() ![]() Simon's story would obviously not be the last. Simon defeated Dracula again with ease and returned home, his name being hailed by the people. Simon returned to the ruins of Castlevania to destroy the pieces, but a hidden sixth relic, Dracula's fang, emerged along with the other remains Simon had collected, summoning a specter directly controlled by the dark lord. The people of Transylvania, nervous that Simon's quest could lead to Dracula's early return, gave him extremely vague hints to him or even lied to him out of fear that he'd inadvertently re-unleash Dracula upon the land. Seven years later as the curse comes close to terminating Simon, a mysterious woman tells Simon of a possible way to rid himself of the curse: by gathering Dracula's remains, his eyeball, ribcage, nail, heart and ring, and burning them to ashes to entirely vanquish Dracula. ![]() Simon successfully defeated Dracula, but as he burned, the Prince of Blood laid a curse onto Simon that cut down his lifespan and would transfer to all of Transylvania with the Count's resurrection. When a black mass successfully resurrects Dracula on Easter Day, Simon journeys through the vampire lord's castle to fulfill his destiny as a vampire hunter. A member of the Belmonts, a clan of vampire hunters as well as one of the many wielders of the Vampire Killer, an enchanted vampire-slaying whip, Simon Belmont began his battle against Count Dracula in the year 1691 AD, following in the footsteps of his distant ancestors, Leon, Trevor and Christopher Belmont, the third of whom Simon heard tales of. ![]()
